The Renault Nervastella Coupé, built in 1935 by the renowned coachbuilder Fernandez & Darrin, is a stunning example of pre-war luxury and craftsmanship. This bespoke creation was commissioned by Louis Renault himself and was based on Renault’s Nervastella chassis, a platform known for its advanced engineering and luxury features. The car’s design combined an open chauffeur’s compartment with a closed coupé-style rear, which became a signature look for Fernandez & Darrin.
Under the hood, the Nervastella Coupé was powered by a 5447cc straight-8 engine, offering a refined balance of performance and smoothness, perfectly complementing the car’s elegant design. The craftsmanship of the coachwork, combined with the luxurious and powerful engine, made this Renault a standout vehicle of its time. Only a handful of such bespoke creations were made, with this model serving as a testament to the artistry and exclusivity of high-end automotive design in the 1930s.
