1986 Mitsubishi Colt Mirage Spyder Concept

The Mitsubishi Colt Mirage Spyder Concept, introduced in 1986, was a speedster-style roadster based on the second-generation Mitsubishi Mirage (C10). The concept featured striking scissor doors and a low-profile, open-top design, distinguishing it as a unique and sporty prototype. Though specific details on the Spyder’s technical specifications are scarce, it made a notable appearance in Jackie Chan's 1986 film Armour of God, where it was featured as one of the standout vehicles.

Under the hood, the Spyder likely housed Mitsubishi's 4G15 engine, a 1.5-liter inline-4, which was common in Mirage models of that era. Given its age and typical configurations, it’s probable that the Spyder used a single overhead cam (SOHC) version of the 4G15, producing approximately 94 hp at the crank (estimated to be slightly less at the wheels). The Spyder concept remained a one-off prototype and was never intended for mass production, but its distinct design left an impression among enthusiasts of the era.
