2003 Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo achieved a remarkable feat by winning one of the most prestigious design awards in the automotive industry. This honor, often referred to as the "Oscar" of automobile design, is bestowed by the British D&AD (British Design and Art Direction) organization after a rigorous competition held globally.

Among a staggering 23,000 nominees from 55 different countries, only 53 finalists made the cut. The Gallardo faced tough competition from notable models like the BMW Z4 and the Smart roadster from DaimlerChrysler. However, in a thrilling conclusion, the Gallardo emerged victorious, thanks to its exceptional design.

The jury, comprised of 250 impartial experts in the field, recognized the Gallardo’s distinctive and innovative design, which stood out in a highly competitive field. The award was presented to Manfred Fitzgerald, the Marketing Director of Automobili Lamborghini, during a prestigious gala ceremony in London, attended by over 1,400 professionals from the automotive industry. The Gallardo's recognition solidified its status as an icon of modern automotive design.
