2004 Lincoln Mark-X Concept

The 2004 Lincoln Mark-X Concept was Lincoln’s first two-door convertible featuring a power-folding, retractable, glass-roofed hardtop. Pronounced "Mark Ten," this luxury convertible roadster was based on the rear-wheel-drive architecture of the Ford Thunderbird, combining timeless design with modern innovation.

Performance and Powertrain

The Mark-X was equipped with a 3.9-liter, 4-valve DOHC V8 aluminum engine, producing 280 horsepower. Paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, the Mark-X offered drivers the added versatility of a SelectShift transmission, enabling manual gear changes either from the steering wheel or the center console shifter.

Interior Technology

The concept featured advanced interior technology, centered around a 7-inch multi-functional LCD information panel. Operated by a mouse in the center console, this display provided access to satellite navigation, climate control settings, and vehicle dynamics such as seat memory and tire pressure monitoring.

Design and Luxury

The Mark-X combined sleek two-seat roadster proportions with Lincoln’s hallmark luxury. Its retractable hardtop glass roof underscored its premium status, offering the flexibility of a coupe or open-air driving experience. The roadster's design emphasized elegance while retaining a sporty and modern appearance, reflecting Lincoln’s ambitions for future vehicles in the luxury segment.

The 2004 Lincoln Mark-X Concept represented a bold move for the brand, integrating cutting-edge technology and striking design in a convertible format, while reaffirming Lincoln's focus on innovation and sophistication.
