The 2005 Daihatsu Costa Concept is a small, playful, four-wheel-drive runabout designed with a breezy, casual approach to urban transportation. With a doorless, semi-open body, the Costa offers a basic, hose-out interior that includes a deck floor and hammock seats, making it perfect for carefree, outdoor adventures. The designers drew inspiration from sandals and beach loungers, which influenced the shape of the car's floor. Despite its compact size (3395x1475x1575 mm) and quirky design, the Costa is a serious performer. It is powered by a 660-cc, three-cylinder DOHC turbo engine, delivering an efficient yet punchy performance. The vehicle's 4x4 transmission and 190 mm of ground clearance make it capable of light off-road driving, offering all-terrain capabilities despite its small size. Weighing only 1654 pounds, the Costa combines practicality and fun in a modern, Japanese take on the Mini Moke.
