The 2005 Daihatsu D-Compact Concept is a mini-SUV that offers a more spacious and stable alternative to its predecessor, the Terios. With a 190 mm increase in width, the D-Compact provides broader dimensions, particularly benefiting drivers by offering more room to rest their left arm. The overall size, including the base and track, has also been expanded, resulting in a more stable and confident ride. Equipped with a 105-horsepower 1.5-liter 16-valve gasoline engine, the D-Compact boasts a permanent all-wheel drive system with a locking center differential. This gives it enhanced off-road capability. Additionally, the vehicle includes a range of active and passive safety features, contributing to its impressive three-star rating in the EuroNCAP "pedestrian" safety tests.
