The 2010 Superformance Shelby CSX 9000 Daytona Coupe is a modern recreation of the iconic 1960s Daytona Coupe, originally designed by Carroll Shelby and Peter Brock for racing. Built by Superformance on the CSX 9000 platform, the car features a fiberglass body and Monza Red paint with silver racing stripes. It is powered by a Roush 427ci Ford V8 engine, equipped with Holley electronic fuel injection, paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.
The CSX 9000 Daytona Coupe was designed as a tribute to the original Shelby Daytona Coupe, which made history by dominating races like the 1965 Daytona Continental and winning the International Championship for GT Manufacturers. This modern iteration incorporates the same sleek, aerodynamically refined design but is fitted with modern technology and performance enhancements for both street and track use.
The car features details like Brock Racing Enterprises (BRE) modifications, including a custom rear window, painted mirror housings, and headlight covers. The modern version also includes Halibrand-style 18" wheels and updated Speedhut instrumentation, alongside performance components like a Roush Performance-built engine and Shelby-branded suspension. The car, although a modern build, is a faithful tribute to the original Shelby Daytona, with design elements that evoke the legendary racing car's spirit and success.
This 2010 version is part of the Shelby American registry, marking it as an officially recognized piece of automotive history.
