2024 Acura Integra Type S HRC Concept

The Acura Integra Type S HRC Concept, unveiled at Monterey Car Week, represents a more extreme take on the Integra. Developed by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), this track-focused version of the Integra reduces weight by nearly 200 lbs, thanks to carbon fiber components and the removal of air conditioning and rear seats. The concept features improved aerodynamics inspired by the Integra Type S TCX race car, including a new front splitter, side splitters, and a larger adjustable rear wing. Its striking Indy Yellow Pearl paint and aluminum HRC badges complete the race-inspired look.

Inside, the rear seats have been replaced with a carbon fiber shelf, allowing space for extra wheels and performance tires, and the driver is secured in carbon fiber Recaro bucket seats with Indy Yellow seatbelts. To improve handling, the car features a track-tuned suspension with coilovers, adjustable camber plates, and larger Brembo brakes with two-piece rotors. Wider forged wheels and Michelin performance tires enhance grip and stability.

Under the hood, the HRC Concept keeps the Integra Type S’s turbocharged 2.0-liter engine but benefits from a larger intercooler, twin oil coolers, and a tuned cat-back exhaust. While Acura hasn’t confirmed power output increases, these enhancements hint at improved performance.

Although Acura denies plans for an Integra Type R, the HRC Concept teases what could be achieved. The company is exploring the possibility of releasing HRC performance parts for the Integra Type S, with more information expected around the 2024 SEMA or PRI Show.
