The Mitsubishi DST Concept is a bold prototype for a seven-seat SUV, designed specifically for the ASEAN markets, and made its debut at the Philippine International Motor Show in 2024. Built on a front-wheel-drive unibody platform, the DST concept closely aligns with Mitsubishi’s smaller Xforce but distinguishes itself with a more rugged, spacious three-row configuration aimed at large families and group-oriented travel. Scheduled for a 2025 release, the DST isn’t intended as a replacement but rather as an expansion of Mitsubishi's SUV portfolio in the ASEAN region, joining models like the Pajero Sport and Xpander Cross.
The DST’s design reflects Mitsubishi’s “Gravitas & Dynamism” ethos, combining functional aesthetics with contemporary SUV styling. Its boxy silhouette is complemented by a bold front grille in a honeycomb pattern, concealed under a tinted, aerodynamic cover, and flanked by chrome inserts along with T-shaped LED headlights, staying true to the brand's Dynamic Shield styling. Large, sculpted fenders draw attention to oversized wheels, enhancing the SUV’s robust appeal, while skid plates and smooth curves add to its adventure-ready impression.
Several concept features, such as side cameras replacing traditional mirrors, flush doors without handles, and a continuous wraparound greenhouse with blacked-out pillars, add a futuristic touch that might be toned down in the production model. Nevertheless, the DST Concept embodies Mitsubishi’s intention to cement its foothold in Southeast Asia with a versatile, family-oriented SUV that brings both utility and modern styling to a highly competitive market.
