2024 Nilu27 Hypercar

Nilu27 has unveiled its new NILU hypercar, a naturally aspirated V12 vehicle developed with Hartley Engines from New Zealand. Weighing around 1,200 kg and boasting over 1,000 hp, the NILU can reach speeds of 400 kph (249 mph). It will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18, with only 15 units planned for track use and an additional 54 for street homologation.

The NILU hypercar emphasizes simplicity by avoiding modern technologies like turbochargers, hybrid systems, or driving aids. It features a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 1,070 hp at 11,000 rpm and 561 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm, coupled with a seven-speed gated manual transmission.

Developed by Hartley Engines, the V12 engine is inspired by 1980s and 1990s Formula 1 designs. The car has a carbon-fiber chassis with aluminum subframes, and features high-performance components like Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires.

Designed by Sasha Selipnakov, known for his work on the Lamborghini Huracan and Bugatti Chiron, the NILU’s aesthetics draw from 1960s and 1970s Italian racecars and the Bauhaus movement. The result is a striking blend of modern and nostalgic design elements.

Nilu27 aims to create a unique driving experience, focusing on engagement rather than metrics like downforce or acceleration times. The first 15 units will be hand-assembled in California, with plans for a European factory in the future. The NILU is not street legal in the U.S. but may be eligible under the Show and Display law.
