The 1987 Mazda RX-7 California Roadster was a custom creation by Racing Beat, a well-known racing team that also used rotary-engined Mazdas in several speed record attempts. Based on the second-generation (FC series) RX-7, this special edition featured a number of modifications aimed at enhancing both its performance and appearance. It showcased Racing Beat's expertise in tuning Mazda's iconic rotary engine, turning the RX-7 into a more potent and visually striking roadster. The car's design and performance upgrades made it a standout during its time and remain a unique example of Racing Beat's involvement with Mazda's rotary-powered cars.
