2020 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 GTi by JP Performance and Prior Design & Khyzyl Saleem

The Volkswagen Golf Mk2 GTi, reimagined by designer Khyzyl Saleem in 2020, takes the classic hot hatch and transforms it into an extreme performance machine with a radical, widebody aesthetic. Initially conceptualized in the virtual world, this stunning creation is set to become a reality with the help of JP Performance and Prior Design.

Saleem's vision for this second-generation Golf GTI includes a bold custom bodykit, featuring a massive front splitter, flared wheel arches, and wide aftermarket wheels. The stance is particularly aggressive, with the rear end outfitted with particularly wide tires that provide an imposing look. The side skirts and tiny wing mirrors add to the clean, yet radical design, while the massive rear spoiler and louvers over the rear window contribute to its race-inspired aesthetics.

A custom exhaust system ensures the GTI’s performance matches its menacing looks, and if the final product mirrors these renders, we can expect it to feature an air suspension system, allowing for a low ride height when stationary and clearance when driven. The project is bound to push the limits of both style and engineering, creating one of the most remarkable Volkswagen GTIs in existence.

With its production soon underway, this wild widebody Golf Mk2 promises to be one of the most jaw-dropping hot hatches on the road, blending classic Volkswagen appeal with cutting-edge modifications.
