2025 De Tomaso P72

The De Tomaso P72 represents a stunning fusion of retro-inspired design and cutting-edge technology, marking a bold comeback for the iconic Italian brand. Initially revealed as a concept in 2019, the P72 draws inspiration from the historic yet unrealized De Tomaso P70 collaboration between Carroll Shelby and Alejandro de Tomaso. Dubbed the “Modern Day Time Machine,” the P72 has faced delays, partly due to the global pandemic, but its journey to production is now complete with the unveiling of the first production-spec chassis.

This limited-edition hypercar will see just 72 units produced, each priced at approximately €1.6 million ($1.67 million). Underneath its carbon-fiber body lies a newly designed chassis by German motorsports company HWA, providing increased safety and cabin space compared to its earlier plans to share a tub with the Apollo Intensa Emozione. The P72 is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine, delivering over 750 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, promising exhilarating performance.

The P72’s interior pays homage to classic luxury with a cream leather cabin and intricate, jewelry-inspired analog instruments. This combination of craftsmanship and advanced engineering underscores De Tomaso’s commitment to producing a car that is both timeless and modern.

As the brand prepares to deliver this masterpiece to customers, the P72 stands as a testament to De Tomaso's heritage and ambition, offering a truly exclusive driving experience for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
