Suzuki also had its vision of a compact youth SUV - in their opinion, it should be a two-seater car with a retractable roof, high ground clearance, and four-wheel drive. The RT-1 was the epitome of this concept. The car was first shown at the 1987 Tokyo Motor Show. The engine sits behind the passengers and is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder longitudinally-mounted power unit.
