2004 DC Design Taarzan

In 2004, DC Design, led by Dilip Chhabria, unveiled the DC Taarzan, a striking custom car based on the Toyota MR2. Created as the star vehicle for the Bollywood thriller Taarzan: The Wonder Car, directed by Abbas-Mustan, the Taarzan combines futuristic design and vivid violet coloring aimed at making a bold statement. This unique car, which cost approximately Rs 2 crore (or Rs 20 million), was crafted over an eight-month period to embody a fantastical, action-ready aesthetic that would stand out as a “hero on four wheels” in the movie.

The storyline of Taarzan: The Wonder Car centers on a young inventor, Raj (played by Vatsal Sheth), who builds a highly advanced car with unique abilities, like swimming, flying, and even confronting villains, reminiscent of iconic fictional cars such as Knight Rider’s KITT. The DC Taarzan aimed to mirror these extraordinary characteristics with a design tailored for cinematic action sequences.

The Taarzan represents DC Design's ability to turn a creative vision into reality, showcasing both technical expertise and an imaginative approach to automotive design.
