The De Tomaso P72, unveiled in 2020, is a modern interpretation of the iconic 1960s De Tomaso P70, a prototype race car that was developed by Alejandro de Tomaso and Carroll Shelby. The P72 prototype was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and has been created by Apollo Automobili. It shares its carbon monocoque chassis with the Apollo Intensa Emozione, a high-performance supercar known for its aggressive design and engineering.
While specific technical details have not been released, the P72 is confirmed to be powered by a combustion engine, staying true to its heritage of performance and driving engagement. The design of the P72 takes heavy inspiration from the original P70, blending classic styling cues with modern performance features. Production of the De Tomaso P72 will be extremely limited, with only 72 units planned, each priced at €750,000 (approximately $845,000). This exclusivity makes it a highly anticipated addition to the luxury supercar market.
