The 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi WR1 was a limited-edition high-performance model, built by Prodrive to commemorate Petter Solberg’s victory in the 2003 World Rally Championship. Only 500 units were produced, making it a sought-after collector’s car among rally enthusiasts.
Modified by Prodrive Advanced Technology, best known for their work with Subaru’s WRC team, the WR1 was upgraded to deliver 320 horsepower, a significant boost over the standard WRX STi. It also featured a Driver’s Control Centre Differential (DCCD), allowing drivers to manually adjust the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels for optimal handling and performance. This combination of power and advanced drivetrain technology made the WR1 one of the most capable and exclusive road-going Imprezas of its time.
